What you need
Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
PictaCast uses the browser's built-in Cast SDK (Presentation API), which requires a Chromium-based browser. Firefox and Safari are not supported.
A Chromecast or Cast-enabled Smart TV
Any Chromecast dongle, Chromecast with Google TV, or Smart TV with built-in Cast support (most modern Sony, TCL, Hisense, Vizio TVs).
Same Wi-Fi network
Your computer and TV need to be on the same local Wi-Fi network. Your photos are streamed directly over the local network — they never leave your home.
Looking for the old Chrome App?
The original PictaCast was a Chrome App — but Google discontinued the Chrome App platform. PictaCast is now a modern web app that's faster, more reliable, and works in any Chromium browser.
